Communities in Schools Volunteer Orientation

Volunteer word cloud

Communities in Schools of Milledgeville-Baldwin County(CIS) has been asked by the Baldwin County School District to help with the community members who want volunteer in our schools. Currently, CIS is working on contacting all the individuals who have signed up to volunteer and filled out paperwork for a background check. We are asking that all interested volunteers please attend an orientation meeting to become more familiar with the ways they can volunteer in our schools. The orientation takes less that 30 minutes.

While last year, only community members who tutored for CIS had an orientation, this year we are asking all volunteers to come to an orientation. The orientation will cover topics such as Code of Conduct, Volunteer Interaction, Mandatory Reporter, Dress Code for volunteers, Confidentially and Transportation as well as what we look for in a volunteer (positive attitude, not talking bad about teachers, diversity and respecting everyone as an individual) and tips for working with students.
