Baldwin County School District participated in Read for the Record day on October 24, 2024. Read for the Record Day is an annual event that encourages people to read aloud to children and promote literacy. It's the world's largest shared reading experience, bringing together millions of children and adults to read the same book on the same day.

The annual initiative raises awareness of the critical importance of early literacy and access to inclusive, high-quality books through shared reading. Over the course of 19 years, more than 28 million people have participated in Read for the Record, and Jumpstart for Young Children has distributed millions of high-quality books to children through the program.

Jumpstart’s 2024 Read for the Record Book Selection: Piper Chen Sings by Grammy winner and Tony-nominated actress Phillipa Soo, Maris Pasquale Doran and illustrated by Qin Leng. Baldwin County School District students had the opportunity to be read to by community volunteers. The Baldwin County School District would like to thank our community partners for their continued support!
